An Individualized approach

There is no single approach that fits every person or every circumstance. I begin by listening carefully to your experience and understanding what matters most to you.

My work is grounded in a person-centred approach and informed by existential perspectives, with CBT, mindfulness, values-based work and other evidence-informed approaches incorporated when they are relevant to your needs and goals.

Rather than focusing only on reducing symptoms, counselling can also be an opportunity to develop greater self-understanding, explore patterns and beliefs, clarify what matters to you, and consider how you want to move forward.

What Counselling Can Offer

Counselling provides a safe and supportive place to pause, talk openly, and make sense of what you are experiencing—without judgment or pressure to have everything figured out.

Together, we can explore your thoughts, emotions, experiences, and themes to gain greater understanding and perspective. From there, we can identify practical strategies and tools to help you manage challenges, build confidence, and make meaningful changes in your everyday life.

A Practical Approach Through CBT

I draw from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) as one of the evidence-based approaches in my counselling practice. CBT explores the connection between our thoughts, feelings, and behaviours and how these can influence the way we experience everyday life.

CBT can provide practical strategies for understanding themes and responding to challenges in new and more helpful ways.

Areas We May Explore

Anxiety & Depression
We can explore patterns of thinking that may be contributing to anxiety, low mood, or feeling stuck, while developing strategies to help you respond differently.

Trauma & Grief
We can work gently with the impact of difficult experiences and loss, helping you understand your responses, manage distress, and find ways to move forward while honouring what you have experienced.

Divorce & Life Transitions
Major life changes can bring uncertainty, stress, and questions about what comes next. Counselling can provide space to process these changes, reconnect with yourself, and consider the next chapter of your life.

Relationship Concerns
Whether you are working through difficulties in a relationship or trying to better understand your own themes, counselling can help you explore communication, expectations, boundaries, and recurring patterns of interaction.

Meaning, Purpose & Spirituality

At times, life experiences can lead us to questions that go beyond the immediate problem we are facing. You may find yourself questioning your sense of identity, purpose, beliefs, mortality, spirituality or what gives your life meaning.

If these questions are important to you, they can have a place in counselling.

I approach spirituality in an open and inclusive way. It does not have to be connected to a particular religion or belief system. It may involve questions of meaning, connection, purpose, inner experience or our relationship with something greater than ourselves.

My role is not to provide answers or promote a particular worldview, but to create a respectful space where you can explore what these questions and experiences mean to you.

Counselling Sessions

At this time, counselling sessions are offered through telecounselling (phone).

‍This provides a comfortable and convenient way to connect and have a conversation from the privacy of your own space.
